Hi, my name is Jordine.

I’m a Denmark, WA based Dance Artist, licensed Creative Arts Therapist, professionally registered Dance Movement Therapist and Artistic Director of Denmark Dance Company.

After a childhood in Western Australia, I studied dance extensively in Melbourne including a Diploma in Dance at Dance World Studios, a Bachelor in Dance and Postgraduate Diploma in Choreography at The Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne. During my studies I worked with both nationally and internationally renowned artists including Sandra Parker, Becky Hilton, Wendy Houston, Anna Smith and Lina Limosani. I graduated from the VCA in 2010 with the prestigious Dr Phillip Law Travel Scholarship.

My professional dance career as a performer and interdisciplinary choreographer has spanned Australian, European and Middle Eastern landscapes. I’ve had the privilege of working with Australian and international choreographers including Carol Brown (Melbourne), Erik Kaiel and Gabriella Maiorino (The Netherlands) and Lottaleben (Austria). I’ve presented solo and ensemble dance works across Iceland, Switzerland and Israel in numerous art festivals. I’m blessed to have received the support from the Australian Council of the Arts, The Arts Centre Melbourne and the Ian Potter Cultural Trust.

I’ve expanded into a career in dance movement therapy as I love to work with people and communities of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and identities, in all kinds of creative and kinaesthetic ways. I graduated from the University of Melbourne's Masters in Creative Arts Therapies (Dance Movement Therapy) in 2021. I intentionally combine talk therapy, dance movement therapy, somatic practices and the creative arts (drawing, painting, mask making) to address emotional issues in unique and innovative ways. My clinical experience includes working with a variety of populations including children with severe emotional disturbance and with autism spectrum disorder, adults with mental illness, older people with dementia, and supporting healthy attachment with caregiver/infant dyads.

Relocating to Denmark, WA in 2023, I established Denmark Dance Company with enthusiasm to bring professional dance offerings to the regional community.

For myself, dance, improvisation, community performance, meditation, yoga, Pilates and moving in nature have been great sources of joy, connection, grounding and wonder. I love sharing these practices in tailored ways to suit individual and group/community needs and goals. I have also completed over 500 hours in yoga teacher trainings.

I am Co-Founder of Moving Creatures and alongside my partner Dor Shira, develop inclusive, playful movement and educational resources for children, families and professionals (kindergartens, high schools and therapists). In 2023, I received an Innovation Award from the Hanny Exiner Memorial Trust to deepen my work with Moving Creatures.

I have lectured Dance Movement Therapy at Deakin University and Dance Improvisation, Yoga and Dance Science at the Victorian College of the Arts.

I would love to connect with you - please say hi.
